Did you like completing the journals?

We had a total of 44 responses to this question out of our combined 64 students.  This was done at the end of the year and a lot of students did not complete it due to field trips, incentives, absences, testing, and other reasons.
Ms. Raniolo's classes reported 47% yes and 53% no. Ms Crissman's classes reported 48% yes and 52% no.

Which was your favorite Journal entry?

While the Country Infographic was not a journal entry on its own, it was completed in the beginning of the year and attached into their journals.  Then it was used as a basis for several subsequent journal entries.  It was a clear winner among all students.

Which was your least favorite Journal entry?

Based on these results the students liked responding to the e-mail prompts the least.  
Next year we plan on starting with more enjoyable journal entries first and giving more scaffolding before they will write an e-mail. 

Student recommendations for next year:

• Include more drawing projects
• Include more interpersonal activities within the journal
• Do some journals that are non-paper based
